The latest report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (“IPCC”) on August 9, 2021 contains phrases such as “code red for humanity” and “nowhere to run, nowhere to hide”. Should IPCC reports refrain from using sensational language?
ANSWER:
I see it the other way around. Not whether they should or should not refrain from this kind of language but that this kind of language about climate science by climate scientists is the norm. In my view that exposes climate science as some kind of activism where their claim to science is simply part of that activism. It is not possible for activists to carry out objective unbiased scientific inquiry on the subject of their activism.
